The history
of Lindcode
Lindcode's history is one of steady practical development: built from genuine teaching experience, real assignments, and a commitment to improving how learning is designed and delivered.

Where it began

Lindcode Ab was founded in 2021 by Sebastian Lindgren. The company was established as an Ab, a limited company rather than a sole trader form, from the start, with scalability and long-term development in mind. It was registered in Turku, Finland, and built to enable educational and consultancy work across both Finland and Sweden from a single, structured base.

The foundation was not built from a business plan alone. Sebastian had been an informal teacher long before Lindcode existed, helping peers through school, taking on lab work and student supervision throughout university, and developing a natural ability to explain complex material clearly and confidently in front of a group. That combination of technical background and genuine teaching instinct became the core of what Lindcode would grow into.

First assignments and early growth

Lindcode's first teaching work came through a consulting arrangement with Chas Academy, where Sebastian held an Advanced JavaScript course. The response from students was strong, and further assignments followed. By 2022, Lindcode had secured both direct contracts and continued work through partnerships in Sweden, including assignments at Chas Academy and IT Högskolan.

As demand grew, so did the team. A summer worker joined in 2022 and transitioned to a full-time role that autumn. Over the following years, additional colleagues and contractors joined the work, allowing Lindcode to take on more assignments and maintain quality across simultaneous deliveries in both countries.

Building a teaching practice

Through years of classroom delivery, Lindcode developed a distinctive teaching approach. One of the key practices was a deliberate split between structured lecture sessions and more exploratory, self-directed learning periods within the same course, a format that helped students develop both understanding and independence.

A consistent pattern emerged: completion rates improved, student evaluations were strong, and cohorts regularly requested continued teaching into their second year. Lindcode also placed particular emphasis on accessible and inclusive delivery. Some of the strongest outcomes came from students who had previously struggled in other learning environments, an observation that reinforced Lindcode's belief that structure, clarity, and adaptability in teaching can make a significant difference to learner outcomes.

Alongside teaching delivery, Lindcode developed a substantial library of course materials, including structured slides, video content, and interactive learning resources. These were refined across multiple course iterations and continue to support the quality and consistency of Lindcode's educational offer today.

Nordic presence and EU participation

As the company developed, Lindcode worked to strengthen its presence and networks across Sweden and Finland. In 2025, Lindcode participated in BSR Go-abroad, an EU-funded internationalisation programme co-financed through the Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme, designed to help micro-SMEs expand into new markets across the Baltic Sea region.

During the same period, Lindcode also participated in EC Future, an initiative by EC Utbildning in Sweden through which companies and educational partners collaborate to explore and shape the competence needs of the future. The courses and insights developed through these activities are expected to find their way into school programmes in the coming years
